(Healing a Broken Heart) - September 22,2024)
Series Big Idea: "Stand alone sermon"
Sermon Big Idea: "Jesus heals broken hearts by revealing His power, offering hope, and calling for faith"
Key Scripture (John 11:1-44)
In John 11:1-44, Jesus’ response to the death of Lazarus speaks directly to the brokenness of human hearts. Mary and Martha are crushed by their brother's death, but Jesus meets them in their pain, reminding them that He is the "resurrection and the life." His display of power in raising Lazarus isn't just about physical resurrection—it reveals that, in Him, there is hope even in the darkest moments. The story illustrates that Jesus is present in our grief, offering comfort and calling us to deeper faith, ultimately healing the brokenness of our hearts by turning sorrow into hope and death into life. Jesus restores what seems beyond repair.
Conclusion
Remember that Jesus still heals broken hearts. No matter the depth of your pain or the weight of your grief, He stands ready to bring hope and restoration. Just as He called Lazarus out of the grave, He calls us to trust Him in our darkest moments. Will you allow Him to heal your heart by placing your faith in His power and love? Let’s bring our brokenness to Jesus, believing that He can bring life where we see only loss.
