Sermon Title: How Grace Prepares Us to Meet Jesus
Scripture: (Titus 2:11-14)
Series Big Idea: Grace motivates godly living more than rules ever could
Sermon Big Idea: Grace appeared in Christ, trains us towards righteousness, and secures our future hope.
Introduction:
Paul shifts from instructing Titus on godly living to revealing the true motivation behind it: grace. Grace is not a vague feeling but God's decisive intervention in history that radically transforms how we view sin, Christ, and our future.
Grace Appeared (v. 11)
God's grace entered time and space in the person of Jesus Christ, making salvation not just a concept but a living reality. This manifestation fulfilled the longing for God to make Himself known, reassuring believers that grace is trustworthy and real.
Grace Trains (v. 12)
Grace is not mere lenience, it actively disciplines and reshapes our hearts, teaching us to reject sin and embrace righteousness. Instead of relying on fear or legalism, godly living springs from experiencing the transforming power of God’s grace in daily life.
Grace Secures (vv. 13-14)
Our lives are anchored by the hope of Christ’s promised return, which fuels present obedience and enduring faith. Grace not only covers our past but also secures our future, calling us to live now as a people defined by confident expectation.
Conclusion:
God stepped into human history through Jesus, offering us more than rules, He offers Himself and His redeeming grace. This same grace that saves us also shapes us, strengthening us to live holy lives as we await the blessed hope of Christ’s glorious return.
