Sermon Title: Worship Rooted in a Faithful God

Scripture: (Psalm 100:1-5)

Series Big Idea: Generations rejoice in our God who frees and keeps us

Sermon Big Idea: God’s mercy liberates our worship and secures our future

Introduction:

On our 33rd Homecoming Sunday, we gather to celebrate God’s faithfulness to our church through every generation. Psalm 100 calls us beyond mere tradition to joyful, Christ-centered praise.

The Command to Joyful Worship (v. 1–2)

God’s invitation to worship is for all people, calling us to serve with gladness and come before Him with singing. True worship springs from gratitude, not from duty or legalism.

The Assurance of God’s Character (v. 3)

We worship because God alone is our Creator and Shepherd. Our confidence and identity rest in belonging to Him, not in our own works.

The Invitation to Enter with Thanksgiving (v. 4–5)

God welcomes us into His presence with thankful hearts, built on His unchanging love and faithfulness. Each generation is sustained not by our achievements, but by God’s mercy and enduring promises.

Conclusion:

Our church’s story is proof that the gospel, not our own efforts, sustains joyful worship and hope for the future. As we look ahead, we are challenged to ground our praise and service in God’s steadfast love for every generation.
