Sermon Title: Standing Secure By God's Character and Power

Scripture: (Ephesians 6:10-24)

Series Big Idea: God unites and transforms believers in Christ’s Church

Sermon Big Idea: God's armor covers believers when prayer engages faith

Introduction:

The Christian life is lived out among a real and unseen spiritual battle where our true enemy is not flesh and blood. We are called to draw strength not from ourselves but from God's mighty power to withstand the schemes of the devil.

Armor Reveals God’s Character (vv. 10-17)

The armor described in Ephesians 6 is not just symbolic; each piece expresses a distinct quality of God’s own character. When believers put on the armor, they are clothing themselves in God’s truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and word.

Prayer Engages the Armor (vv. 18-24)

Prayer is what connects us to the spiritual strength that the armor represents, allowing us to stand firm in the battle. Without prayer, the armor lies dormant; with it, believers are equipped and emboldened to withstand the enemy and support one another.

Conclusion:

God promises peace, love, and grace to all who love Christ sincerely, reminding us that our victory comes from reliance on Him. As we prepare to take the Lord’s Supper, we are invited to stand secure trusting in God’s character and engaging in prayerful dependence.
