Sermon Title: Transformed Relationships

Scripture: (Ephesians 5:22-6:9)

Series Big Idea: God unites and transforms believers in Christ’s Church

Sermon Big Idea: Gospel shaped relationships reflect Christ's love and humble submission

Introduction

Paul teaches that all Christians are to interact with each other with humility and mutual submission because of Christ. Gospel transformation shapes every relationship, not through power, but by reflecting Jesus to one another.

Godly Relationships Are Built Upon Submission (vv. 5:21-25)

Mutual submission flows from reverence for Christ and is the foundation for all Christian relationships. It transforms authority into a Christlike act of service, whether we lead or follow.

Gospel Transformed Authority Is Expressed through Love (vv. 5:22-33)

True authority is marked by sincere, sacrificial love, as seen in Christ’s example. When both husbands and wives reflect this love and respect, marriages become living illustrations of the gospel.

Everyday Relationships Become Opportunities for Worship (vv. 6:1-9)

In families and workplaces, relationships transform when obedience and nurture are offered as worship to Christ. Servants and leaders alike are called to act with sincerity and justice, knowing they serve the Lord.

Conclusion

Paul’s vision is for every relationship to display the humility, love, and servant heartedness of Jesus. When the gospel shapes our relationships, our lives point others to Christ’s redeeming grace.
