Sermon Title: The Attitude of A Believer

Series Big Idea: Focusing on the human quest for power, versus God’s sovereign reign

Sermon Big Idea: Believers lives are marked by the attitudes formed by the transforming grace of God

Scripture: (1 Corinthians 15:9-11)

Introduction

As we reflect on the sacrificial love of Jesus and the transforming power of His grace, we are invited to examine our own hearts. The central question we must ask is, "Are you still thankful for the amazing grace of God in your life?"

I. Attitude of Humility:

Paul called himself the least of the apostles, unworthy because of his past, revealing that true humility grows from understanding God's mercy. This humility shifts focus away from comparison with others and centers entirely on our relationship with God.

II. Attitude of Indebtedness:

Paul never lost sight of how far God's grace had brought him from his days of persecuting the church, living with deep gratitude rather than guilt. This thankfulness stirred a desire in him to share God’s grace with others.

III. Attitude of Dependence:

Paul confessed that everything he was came by God's grace, not by human effort or religious works. His daily walk reflected a longing for more of Christ and a total reliance on God's sustaining power.

IV. Attitude of Conviction:

Paul lived and died with steadfast faith, knowing whom he believed and anticipating the crown of righteousness. Conviction, born from the fear of being without Christ, points us to the only hope—God's continuing and covering grace.

Conclusion

We must examine our hearts to see if these Christlike attitudes truly define us. As we approach the Lord’s Supper, we praise God for His grace and ask Him to transform us into people who reflect Christ more deeply.
