(Focus on Joy) - December 8,2024)
Series Big Idea: "Exploring the heart and purpose for the Church”
Series Big Idea: “Christmas can be stressful, but focusing on the J-O-Y of the Gospel brings peace and purpose”
Key Scripture (Galatians 2:20)
As we enter the Christmas season, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the endless to-do lists, busy schedules, and the pressure to make everything just right. But today, Pastor Dean is here to remind us of something powerful: amid all the hustle and bustle, we can find true joy.
By focusing on J-O-Y—Jesus, Others, and Yourself in that order—we can experience peace and purpose even in the busiest times. Through the lens of Galatians 2:20-25, we’ll discover how centering our lives on the Gospel allows joy to take root and overflow, making this season not just about celebration but transformation.
Let’s open our hearts and minds as Pastor Dean leads us in discovering how to keep joy in focus this Christmas season!
(Galatians 2:20)
and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
(Acts 20:35)
In every way I’ve shown you that by laboring like this, it is necessary to help the weak and to keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, for He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Conclusion:
As we embrace the Christmas season, let us keep our focus on true joy—J-O-Y—by centering our hearts on Jesus, serving others with love, and finding peace in the purpose He gives us. When we let the Gospel message guide our lives, even the busyness of this season can point us back to the hope and joy we have in Christ. This Christmas, may our lives reflect His joy and draw others to the good news of His salvation!
